Convert airtime to MTN Mobile Money or Orange Money

Switchn can help you convert MTN Cameroon or Orange Cameroon airtime to MoMo or Orange Money.

This also works if you mistakenly sent airtime when you wanted to do a MoMo or Orange Money cash-in.

How it works

1. Open the Airtime to Cash page on Switchn: https://switchn.net/en/airtime-to-cash
2. Enter the phone number that has the airtime.
3. Switchn will show the current Switchn number where you should send the airtime.
4. Send the airtime from that same phone number.
5. When Switchn receives the airtime message from MTN or Orange, we pay 80% to the same phone number that sent the airtime.

For safety, Switchn pays only the same number that sent the airtime. We do not pay another number for this service.

If you send airtime more than once, each successful airtime transfer is handled separately.

Do not use an old screenshot or an old support message for the Switchn number. Always use the number shown on the Airtime to Cash page.

Minimum amounts

Send at least:

• MTN Cameroon: 125 FCFA airtime
• Orange Cameroon: 625 FCFA airtime

These minimums are important because Switchn pays 80% of the airtime received, and the payout must be high enough to cash in.

If you send less than the minimum, Switchn may receive the airtime but the payout may need manual support review.

MTN Cameroon

MTN uses Me2U for airtime transfers.

If you already have a Me2U code, dial:

*150*AMOUNT*SWITCHN_NUMBER*ME2U_CODE#

Replace:

• AMOUNT with the amount of airtime you want to send
• SWITCHN_NUMBER with the Switchn number shown on the page
• ME2U_CODE with your MTN Me2U code

If you do not have a Me2U code yet, MTN Cameroon says you can create one by dialing:

*150*9999*NEW_PIN#

Example:

*150*9999*1234#

If you forgot your Me2U code, contact MTN support or visit an MTN agency. We did not find a Cameroon-official self-reset code for forgotten Me2U codes.

Do not use 0000 unless it is your actual Me2U code.

Orange Cameroon

Orange uses airtime transfer.

Dial:

#144*SWITCHN_NUMBER*AMOUNT#

Replace:

• SWITCHN_NUMBER with the Switchn number shown on the page
• AMOUNT with the amount of airtime you want to send

Orange may allow airtime transfers below 625 FCFA, but Switchn needs at least 625 FCFA of Orange airtime received so that the 80% payout can be cashed in normally.

Important notes

• Send the airtime only to the Switchn number shown on the page.
• Send airtime only from the same phone number you entered.
• If your transfer fails, try a smaller amount.
• If you send a different amount from what you planned, Switchn pays based on the airtime we actually receive.
• If you already sent airtime before opening the page, contact support with the phone number that sent the airtime.
